Naomi over at Straight Into Bed CakeFree has tagged me for a meme. Isn’t that a great name!! Naomi is a Daring Baker with me. But, I have some extra respect for Naomi as a Daring Baker because she does it Gluten Free. That pretty much guaranties she doubles every Daring Baker Challenge. And, she has great success.
7 Random Things
I told Naomi that I had things stewing and baking. You do to right? But, I’ll try to come up with 7. If I come up short, you’ll please forgive.

Two: Within months I will pass into the state of second parenthood and my father will become a great-grandfather.

Three: Years ago, Gorn & I did a triathlon in Waco Texas. It was a lot of fun and I still have a towel that says Waco Triathlon on it. Never used.

Four: I lust for a new Mac. This Mama has a really old battery whose charge lasts all of about 15 minutes but is fine while plugged in. Although I’m noticing an increasing spin in the hard drive that I know is the way the last hard drive announced it’s demise. I’m just trying to hold off for the next model.

Seven: When I swim at the gym, I use a mask and snorkel because I can’t really swim.

Eight: What? Not only are you still reading, you’re counting too. Well, hold on because it is a good story.
In my last post, Tania from the Candied Quince ask about the bowl in which I served up My House Cassoulet. Now, she’ll be able to see how it’s really shaped. The handle is really pretty and graceful although I’ve not found it to be very useful. That little shelf like part however is just perfect for crackers or half a sandwich propped up there.
All the pottery pictured in this post is from a wonderful pottery place about twelve miles outside of a little town called New Era in Michigan and about four miles from our place along Lake Michigan. Claybanks Pottery.
Since it was about 4 miles from our place, for years I stopped in at the half way spot on my daily run. I loved walking around and admiring all the things that they made. They had and still have two really wonderful dogs; a golden and a sheep dog. I always enjoy talking with Laurie and Stephen Pounder and watching them work. And I could use their bathroom. I used their bathroom for years and never bought anything. Well, it would be pretty weird to buy pottery and then have to carry it in your hands while you were jogging home!
But, there was one day I stopped in driving back from Whitehall. I got into a long talk with Stephen and he and I designed a bowl together. That was my first purchase. As you can see, I’ve more than made up for all those years using their bathroom.

This is the Tanna bowl. Stephen named it after me.
So who gets a tag? This is a tag with no pressure because sometimes we’re just not in the mood and sometimes it just doesn’t fit.

Tania from the Candied Quince because she asked.
Katy from SugarLaws because I couldn’t find that she’s done one.
HappyCook from MyKitchenTreasures Because she’s got good Minestrone.
AnneMarie from Ambrosia and Nectar because just because I want to know.
And you if you’d like to!
